Whether you're a senior designer or just starting out, mastering Figma shortcuts can drastically improve your productivity. Imagine blasting through your projects with ease, thanks to a set of keyboard shortcuts that save you time and keep your creative flow uninterrupted. (Also we are shortcuts geeks π). So, letβs get started and unlock the full potential of your Figma productivity.
Weβve divided these shortcuts into three sections: Edit, Text, and View. These shortcuts are for macOS users, but if you're on Windows, you can swap (most of the time) the β key with the Ctrl key.
Edit Shortcuts
Pen Tool - P
Quickly access the Pen tool to draw custom shapes and paths.
Toggle Mask - β + β§ + M
Easily toggle masking on selected layers to control visibility.
Move Tool - V
Select and move objects within your design effortlessly.
Toggle Visibility - β + β§ + H
Show or hide selected layers without deleting them.
Rectangle Tool - R
Draw rectangles quickly for frames, buttons, and more.
Group Selection - β + G
Group selected elements to keep your design organized.
Duplicate - β₯ + Drag
Create a copy of the selected element by dragging it while holding the Option key.
Toggle Lock - β + β§ + L
Lock or unlock selected layers to prevent accidental edits.
Cut - β + X
Remove selected elements and place them on the clipboard.
Ellipse Tool - O
Draw perfect circles and ellipses with this shortcut.
Paste - β + V
Paste elements from the clipboard into your design.
Frame Tool - F
Create frames to group elements and manage layouts.
Line Tool - L
Draw straight lines for dividers and separators.
Copy - β + C
Copy selected elements to the clipboard.
Add Auto Layout - β§ + A
Apply Auto Layout to a frame, making it responsive to content changes.
Ungroup Selection - β + β§ + G
Ungroup previously grouped elements for individual edits.
Remove Auto Layout - β₯ + β§ + A
Remove Auto Layout from a frame to return to manual adjustments.
Text Shortcuts
Toggle Underline - β + U
Add or remove underlining from selected text.
Toggle Bold - β + B
Make your text bold or normal with this shortcut.
Toggle Italic - β + I
Italicize your text or revert to regular style.
Type Tool - T
Select the Type tool to add text to your design.
View Shortcuts
Show/Hide Ruler - β + R
Display or hide rulers to align elements precisely.
Pick Color - I
Activate the color picker to sample colors from your design.
Show/Hide Layout - CTRL + G
Toggle the visibility of layout grids and guides.
Navigate - {Space} + Drag
Quickly move around your canvas by dragging while holding the Space bar.
Zoom In - +
Zoom into your design to see finer details.

Collapse all layer groups to keep your Layers panel organized.

Switch To Layers Panel - β₯ + 1
Jump to the Layers panel to manage your layers.

Zoom Out - -
Zoom out to see more of your design at once.
Zoom To Selection - 2
